Queenie McKenzie

Queenie McKenzie passed away in 1998 at the age of 85. 

She was considered one of the most important female Aboriginal artists in Australia.

Gloria Petyarre

Gloria is the best known living  Aboriginal artist from Utopia - one of the foremost communities in the contemporary Aboriginal art movement.

The paintings of Gloria Petyarre are distinctive for their bright colours and the high degree of abstraction in her work.

Ada Bird (a sister of Gloria Petyarre) is considered by many to be the senior woman artist working in Utopia.
